Travel and Tourism Fair  (July 31 to Aug. 2)  Travel & Tourism Fair, Ahmedabad is a leading exposition for the travel and tourism industry. Tarnetar Mela  (September)  An exciting and unique three day fair held annually at Tarnetar in the state of Gujarat. The Tarnetar fair coincides with the festival at the Trineteshwar temple (three-eyed god Shiva), celebrating the wedding of the legendary 'Mahabharatha' (epic) hero, Arjuna with Draupadi. Villagers from all over Saurashtra, dressed in their traditional costumes and exquisite jewelry throng Tarnetar during this fair. Lively folk songs and dances-garba, ras, hudo and the Rasada, the captivating folk dance performed by hundreds of women moving gracefully in a single circle, dancing to the accompaniment of  drums and  flutes are the special attractions of the fair, besides the wonderful Tarnetar "Chhatris" -umbrellas with intricate embroidery and mirror work. There are also exhibitions of rural handicrafts, a cattle show, and competitive sports.

Chandi Padvo  (October)  This day comes after one of the two biggest full moon days of the Hindu calendar year, "Sharad Purnima". On this day, Surtis buy almost 100 tons of Ghari and other Surti delicacies, then head to the city's seaside beach area, Dumas where they have dinner and a late night snack under the full moonlit sky.

Energy Expo  (Oct. 9 to Oct. 11)  Energy Expo 2009, the 4th international exhibition and conference, is exclusively focused on energy generation and conservation.
