| Chandigarh is a very modern city with a large number of decent lounge bars and pubs. The best part is that most of the pubs are pretty evenly dispersed in the city, although sector 17 has a few more. Pubs like "Down Under" are a hit among the youngsters because of the good food and alcohol. You can also try the Lava Pub in the Taj Chandigarh, with lava lumps of all sizes lying around the place. A couple of other favorite chill-out zones include "The Nightclub" and "Rendezvous Bar and Nightclub. |

Pinjore Gardens |

| The Pinjore Gardens, also known as Yadavindra Gardens, are only a 20 minute drive from Baddi. Built in the beautiful Mughal style architecture, seven terraces at Pinjore Gardens descend into a distance to achieve a magical view. Rang Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Jal Mahal are the three palaces built inside the gardens. World famous mango festival organized in June and July, is an indulgence for mango lovers they can't afford to miss. Bhima Devi temple and an ancient Baoli (step well) nearby has legendry connection with pandavas and Mahabharat. |

Rose and Bougainvillea Gardens |

| The Bougainvillea Garden, is a 20 acre garden located in Sector 10. As the name suggests, the garden is devoted to hundreds of varieties of a Bougainvillea. The Zakir Rose Garden located in Sector 16, is the largest of its kind in Asia. It has nearly 17000 plants covering 1500 varieties of roses. |

Sukhna Lake |

| The Sukhna Lake is a large man-made lake located close to the Rock Garden at Chandigarh. The three km squared lake is the favored picnic spot of Chandigarh families. Paddle boats can be hired at the boating club attached to the lake. There are a few shops located within the lake complex that sell souvenirs and handicrafts. There is also a cafe run by Chandigarh Tourism that serves good South Indian and Continental snacks. |

The Rock Garden |

| The idea of building a sculpture garden from waste was the brainchild of Nek Chand. He started the project as a hobby many years ago and kept it a complete secret since it was started on land that was owned by the government. When the small garden was discovered by the authorities, it was debated whether to demolish the property to or just let it stay. Fortunately, his work was appreciated and a decision was taken to build a large sculpture garden with Mr. Nek Chand at the helm of affairs. The garden was opened for public viewing in 1976. It now exhibits hundreds of human and animal forms, craftly sculpted out of regular city waste, such as broken earthenware, electrical items, drums, jute bags, broken glass, bottles, bangles, pebbles etc. |

| Timber Trail offers a picturesque view by way of a cable car. Take a cable car to the mountain peak and have a cup of coffee at the other end, take some scenic pictures, or go for a hike. There is a great scenic view from the mountain, which offers wonderful photo opportunities. |

| The Verka Milk Factory is a great place to stop for some flavored milk when you first enter Chandigarh. For some, this sweetened almond flavored milk bring back memories of childhood in India when milk was served in glass bottles. |
